CACDP
The Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People (CACDP) is the awarding body for the Level 3 Certificate for Notetakers. In April 2008, CACDP extended its current registration system to include CACDP qualified Electronic and Manual Notetakers.To become qualified as a Notetaker through CACDP, you will need to undertake the following unitised qualifications:

LNT3 Notetaking qualification.
Once you have passed the Level 3 exams, you can apply to CACDP to become a 'Member of the Register of Notetakers (Manual) or (Electronic)'.
Holders of the pre- 2007 Level 2 Certificate in Electronic Notetaking for Deaf People or The Level 2 Certificate in Manual Notetaking for Deaf People can apply to become 'Registered Manual/Electronic Notetakers'. However, Notetakers will be required to update their qualifications to the new level 3 award by April 2011 in order to remain on the Register.
